The hidden gem here are the Mexican Tortas. They are 100% authentic (I grew up in Mexico City). I always order the "Milanesa de Pollo (Breaded chicken cutlet) and it's perfect. They have other choices as well plus more Mexican specialties you should seek out. Don't sleep on this!

This place is terrific. The food is good, the service is efficient, and the folks here are always polite, even if they are a little reserved (which is fine!). The atmosphere is casual and fast.

This place is a nice little spot for the neighborhood. There isn't too much around like it. The owners are to the point, but friendly enough. I don't expect NYC businesses to always win the award on courtesy which they seem to get knocked on here over. The food and baked goods are fresh, many made in-house. Been here for years, recently started offering electronic pay options which I'm glad about. Had been my only major beef over the years. Great breakfast sandwiches and bagels in the morning!

Very good prices and quality items. Tried the cheesecake which is a great classic and this guava pastry that was amazing. Only reason giving it 4 starts is because of it being cash only so I had to scavenge for cash.

Good bagels, conchas and croissants. Generous sizes. Nice folks. CASH ONLY. There's an ATM outside, though, so digital only folks can do their cashless life.

Hunger is a serious affliction. With that being said, I was determined to eat a chicken sandwich with all the "fixins". I went into the 1st deli I saw and immediately overwhelmed by the delicious choices on every display of choices. Pastries, breads, coffee, desserts ..... this was overload. They didn't have a paper menu, but it's okay, I have the visions in my mind of other folks orders, wraps, deluxe quesadillas, panini, all looking amazing. The counter lady was a bit dry, yet cordial, she put my order in and it was prepared at the cooks leisure. But again, hunger is a serious affliction. I ordered a grilled chicken cemita (no peppers, indigestion is serious on an empty stomach) and watched as the elderly gent gingerly prepared whatever the lady barked at him, without so much as a nod. He piled queso blanco on the toasted cemita roll and even made a few little pieces of extra chicken to fill the bread. Avocado and onion freshly sliced, paid my $7.50 and it was ready to go. Got on the train and everyone was drool as i inhaled my sando. Next time a skim of mayo and some black pepper will make this a friend in the hood.
